To celebrate New Year's Day 2024, Hong Kong Chu Hai College held a National flag-raising ceremony on campus at 10 a.m. on January 1, 2024. Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering Professor Paul CHU, Acting Head of the Department of English Dr. Hauman NG, Senior Managers of the Alumni Affairs Office, Mr. Bryan FANG and Mr. Fung LAM, staff members, and students of the College attended the ceremony to celebrate this momentous occasion.

The flag-raisers this time were composed of six Postgraduate students. They entered the venue solemnly with Chinese-style marching. With the national flag hoisting accompanied by a rendition of the national anthem of the People's Republic of China, everyone stood in front of the national flag and respectfully faced the flag pole.

TIAN Mengchao, the flag-raiser responsible for raising the national flag, said after the ceremony: "It is an honor for me to represent the College as a flag-raiser this time!" The Hong Kong Chu Hai College hopes to strengthen teachers' and students' sense of national identity and patriotic feelings through the flag-raising ceremony while promoting students' all-round development and the cultivation of social responsibility. At the same time, the College will continue to strive to provide high-quality education, cultivate more outstanding talents with international vision and social responsibility, and contribute to the development of the motherland and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
